Your AI Discoverability SpecialistWhen someone asks
an assistant about you.

Your AI Discoverability Specialist works on whether an AI assistant can understand your business well enough to recommend it. That means a machine-readable account of what you do, structured data that agrees with the page, and answers clean enough to be quoted.

AI Discoverability Specialist Makes sure ChatGPT and the rest can describe you, and get it right.
Briefed by your Marketing Manager, who decides each month whether this role is needed and for how many hours.
Part of your hours · up or down, month to month
Why this role

What this person does for you

People ask assistants now, as well as search boxes

In that conversation there are no ten blue links. There are two or three names.

An assistant cannot recommend what it cannot verify

If your hours, your prices, your area and your services are not stated plainly and consistently, you are a risk to mention, so you do not get mentioned.

It is checkable

We ask the assistants about you, we keep what they say, and we watch it change.

Nobody can guarantee a mention in an AI answer. Being the easiest business of your kind to describe correctly is doable, and it is measurable.

Tools of the trade

What is on their desk

The software this role actually works in. Named, because “industry-leading tools” tells you nothing and these are the things you would be paying somebody to already know.

  • ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, PerplexityAsked about your business directly, with the answers recorded — right or wrong
  • Schema.orgThe machine-readable version of the page, and whether it agrees with the page
  • Rich Results TestChecks the markup the way Google reads it, not the way we wrote it
  • llms.txtA plain-text index of the site written for assistants rather than browsers
  • Google Search ConsoleWhich queries the site is already an answer to
  • Google Business ProfileThe record the assistants quote when somebody asks where you are
The obvious question

“Could I not just ask AI to do this?”

Some of it, yes — and we use the same tools, so this is not an argument that they do not work. It is about the one thing they cannot do, which is notice when the answer is wrong.

What it is genuinely good at here

This role is the one that is entirely about these tools — so the honest answer here is the most specific of the eight.

What it gets wrong, that you would not catch
  • You cannot ask an assistant how assistants see you

Ask it about your business and it will summarise what you just put in the prompt, or whatever one search turned up. That is not what a stranger gets.

  • The answer changes by assistant, and by session

Checking means asking cold, from clean sessions, across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, and recording what each one says — then working out which page on your site produced the wrong bit.

  • Being wrong about you is not a bug it will report

It will state your old opening hours, your closed location or a competitor's price with exactly the same confidence as the correct answer.

So the comparison is not AI against a specialist. The work is reading the answers and tracing them back to the page that caused them. The generating part is the easy half.

Problems and solutions

What people come to us with

These are the sentences business owners actually say on the first call, and what an AI Discoverability Specialist does about each one. If one of them is yours, the audit will tell you how many hours it takes to fix.

I asked ChatGPT about my business and the answer was wrong

We establish what the assistants currently say, then fix the source of the error. Usually the facts are inconsistent across your site, your profiles and the directories, and the assistant is repeating the version it trusts most.

I have no idea whether AI assistants even know we exist

That is the first thing we find out, and we keep the record. Asking them, saving what they say and watching it change over time is how you know whether any of this worked.

Our prices and opening hours are different in three places

Then every one of those places is teaching a machine something different about you. Making the facts identical everywhere they appear is unglamorous and it is most of the job.

Is this not just SEO with a new name on it

No, and it does not replace SEO either. Search engines rank ten pages; an assistant names two or three businesses, and what it needs from you is structured, consistent fact rather than ranking signals.

Will this all be obsolete in a year

The conventions will change and the underlying work will not. A business that states plainly what it does, where, for whom and at what price has been easy to describe since long before any of this, and will be after.

Skills and remit

What they are good at

Disciplines rather than software. The bench changes tools as the work changes; what does not change is what the role is accountable for.

  • Establishing what the assistants say about you today, and keeping the record
  • A machine-readable account of the business: what you do, where, for whom, at what price
  • Structured data that agrees with the visible page rather than contradicting it
  • Writing answers clean enough to be lifted word for word
  • Keeping the facts identical everywhere they appear — site, profiles, directories
  • Watching what the assistants say change, and tying the change to work that was done
  • Keeping up with the files and conventions as they settle, rather than guessing early
And what it is not

Outside this role

Every agency page reads as though one person does everything, which is how you end up disappointed by work nobody agreed to. These sit outside this role, and where something is simply somebody else’s job we have said whose.

A guaranteed mention

Nobody controls what an assistant says. Being the easiest business of your kind to describe correctly is the part that is doable.

Gaming the assistants

Anything that works by misleading them stops working, and takes your credibility with it.

Replacing search

This sits beside SEO. People still use search boxes.

Speaking for you

Prices, hours and claims come from you before they go anywhere a machine can read them.

A month in the work

What the hours actually go on

Hours are recorded against your account and reported back to you every month, so you can see exactly where the time went rather than taking it on trust.

Nobody is on a retainer here. In a quiet month you buy fewer hours of this role, and in a heavy one you buy more.

  • Checks what the assistants currently say about you
  • Keeps the machine-readable summary of the business current
  • Makes sure structured data and visible text agree
  • Writes the plain answers that get quoted
  • Tracks mentions over time, and what changed them
How it runs

How they work on your business

You never brief this role directly, and you never chase it. There is one route in and one route back, and it is the same every month.

  1. You raise it

One conversation with your Marketing Manager. You describe the problem, not the solution — working out which discipline it belongs to is their job.

  2. It goes in the plan

With hours against it, agreed with you before anything starts. If it does not fit this month, you are told that rather than discovering it later.

  3. The work happens

The facts are made consistent and machine-readable, then re-checked against the assistants.

  4. You get it back

Reviewed by your Marketing Manager before it reaches you, reported with the hours it actually took, and kept on the rolling view for next quarter.

How you would know it is working

Ask an assistant about your business in six months and the answer is accurate, and recognisably yours.
